Townhall Meeting Held for 18th Himalayan Mela Planning
Nepalese Canadian Community Services (NCCS) is pleased to share an official update on the ongoing preparations for the 18th Himalayan Mela 2026, scheduled for August 8, 2026.
Following the successful Townhall Meeting held on May 10 at Shree Pashupatinath and Buddha Mandir, NCCS President Sudarshan Sapkota, along with the Event Coordinator team, has been actively working on refining and strengthening the event plan based on valuable community feedback.
Community Feedback Driving the Vision
The Townhall Meeting brought together more than 60 participants, with over 50 community members sharing direct feedback, ideas, and suggestions. NCCS leadership has carefully reviewed all input, and it is now forming the foundation of the planning process for the 18th Himalayan Mela.
NCCS President Sudarshan Sapkota has emphasized that this event is community-driven, and every suggestion received is being considered to ensure a more inclusive, organized, and culturally vibrant celebration.
Event Planning Progress So Far
The NCCS Event Coordinator team is currently advancing several key areas of preparation, including:
Cultural program design and stage scheduling
Community organization participation and booth allocation
Volunteer recruitment and coordination framework
Media partnership and communication planning
Event logistics, safety, and on-site management
Youth engagement and cultural showcase planning
Initial confirmations from cultural groups and community organizations are already underway, and NCCS continues to engage partners across the region to ensure strong participation.
Commitment to a Grand Cultural Celebration
The 18th Himalayan Mela 2026 will be one of the most significant cultural festivals for the Nepali community in Canada. NCCS remains committed to delivering a well-organized, inclusive, and vibrant celebration that highlights Nepali culture, heritage, language, music, dance, and community unity.
Under the leadership of NCCS President Sudarshan Sapkota and the Event Coordinator team, planning efforts are being carefully structured to ensure a successful and impactful event.
A Community-Led Journey Forward
NCCS sincerely thanks all community members, volunteers, organizations, and partners for their continued support and engagement. Your contributions remain at the heart of this event’s success.
More updates will be shared as planning continues. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the 18th Himalayan Mela 2026 for a truly historic and joyful celebration.
