Virtual Community Consultation: Advocacy for Nepali Heritage Month in Ontario

On March 30, 2026, we held a Virtual Community Consultation to advocate for the official recognition of April as Nepali Heritage Month in Ontario. The session brought together community members in a united effort to celebrate and promote our shared culture, identity, and heritage, while also strengthening our collective voice for provincial recognition. The main objective of the consultation was to gather community input, support, and engagement toward the proclamation of Nepali Heritage Month. Participants actively discussed the importance of cultural recognition and the role it plays in preserving and promoting our identity for future generations. As part of the initiative, attendees were encouraged to submit support letters to the office of Kristyn Wong-Tam to help strengthen the motion and demonstrate broad community backing. Under the theme “Unite for Our Culture, Identity & Heritage!”, the session reflected a strong spirit of collaboration and pride. We are proud of the collective effort shown by our community members, working together to ensure that our contributions are recognized, respected, and celebrated across the province of Ontario.
