NCCS Chautari 2026 - A Historic Gathering of Seniors and Parents

Nepali Canadian Community Services (NCCS) successfully held “NCCS Chautari 2026”, a seniors’ and parents’ gathering and community unity event, at Morningside Park in Toronto.

A Historic First Event
This was the first historic event organized by NCCS specifically targeting senior citizens. Following its unprecedented success on the first attempt and overwhelming community support, the organization announced that it will continue this annually as its ‘signature program’.

Over 100 Seniors and Parents Participate Enthusiastically
More than 100 senior citizens and parents participated enthusiastically in the event. The attendees appeared very happy, cheerful, and emotional as they got the opportunity to spend time in their own language, culture, and with their peers in a new environment.

Traditional Bhajans, Music, Dance, and Authentic Nepali Food
The occasion featured traditional bhajan-kirtan, songs and music, dance, various fun games, and delicious Nepali cuisine.

Health Check-ups and Experience Sharing
As part of health awareness, free blood pressure and blood sugar tests were provided for the parents. There was also an interactive session for sharing experiences of living in Canada and getting to know each other.

Three lucky winners received special gifts, courtesy of ‘Daily Toronto’, through a lucky draw held during the program.

NCCS Chairperson Bimal Basnet inaugurated the event. Board member and Program Coordinator Khagendra Kandel coordinated and hosted the program. While concluding the event, NCCS President Sudarshan Sapkota expressed special thanks to all participants, volunteers, and supporters.
