Nepali Heritage Month Celebration Brings Community Together at Scarborough Civic Centre
On May 4, a vibrant and successful Nepali Heritage Month Celebration was held at the Scarborough Civic Centre, organized jointly by the office of Councillor Neethan Shan and Nepalese Canadian Community Services (NCCS).
The event brought together more than 25 community organizations, media representatives, cultural performers, community leaders, and hundreds of attendees to proudly celebrate Nepali culture, heritage, diversity, and unity. The celebration showcased the strength and vibrancy of the Nepali community through colorful cultural performances, traditional music, dance, and community participation.
NCCS President Sudarshan Sapkota delivered remarks during the event, expressing gratitude to all organizations, volunteers, performers, supporters, and community members who contributed to making the celebration a great success. Councillor Neethan Shan also addressed the audience and highlighted the importance of recognizing and celebrating the contributions of the Nepali community within Toronto’s multicultural landscape.
The event created a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds to experience and appreciate Nepali traditions, culture, and values. Community organizations and media partners played an important role in promoting unity, inclusion, and cultural awareness throughout the celebration.
As a token of appreciation, appreciation letters were presented to media organizations, participating community organizations, cultural performers, and contributors in recognition of their dedication, support, and valuable participation in the event.
NCCS sincerely thanks Councillor Neethan Shan’s office, all partner organizations, volunteers, performers, media representatives, and attendees for helping make this celebration memorable and meaningful. The overwhelming community participation demonstrated the pride, unity, and cultural richness of the Nepali community in Canada.
Together, we continue to celebrate our heritage, strengthen community connections, and promote multicultural harmony for future generations.
