Community Safety First: Recapping Our "Preventing Crime, Fraud, and Scams" Webinar
The Nepalese Canadian Community Services (NCCS) successfully hosted an informative and engaging webinar titled “Preventing Crime, Fraud, and Scams” with the goal of increasing awareness and promoting safety within our community.
The webinar brought together community members, safety advocates, and experts to discuss the growing concerns surrounding fraud, scams, identity theft, cybercrime, and everyday safety issues affecting individuals and families. Participants learned about common scam tactics, how to recognize warning signs, and the steps they can take to protect themselves and their loved ones.
Throughout the session, speakers shared valuable real-life examples, practical prevention tips, and important resources available to the public. Topics included phone scams, online fraud, financial scams targeting seniors and newcomers, personal information protection, and how to report suspicious activities to the proper authorities.
The event also encouraged open discussion and community engagement, allowing attendees to ask questions and gain a better understanding of how to stay safe in today’s rapidly changing digital and social environment.
NCCS believes that community education and awareness are essential in preventing crime and protecting vulnerable individuals. By organizing programs like this webinar, NCCS remains committed to empowering the community with knowledge, resources, and support to build a safer and more informed society.
We sincerely thank all the guest speakers, partners, volunteers, and participants who contributed to the success of this important event. Your support and participation continue to strengthen our collective commitment to community safety and well-being.
Together, through awareness, education, and collaboration, we can help create a safer future for everyone.
