We Are Honoured!

Nepalese Canadian Community Service Receives Honourable Mention at the 2025 Toronto Community Champion Award

The Nepalese Canadian Community Service (NCCS) is proud to announce that we have received an Honourable Mention for the 2025 Toronto Community Champion Award, presented by the City of Toronto and United Way Greater Toronto.

This recognition is evidence to our ongoing commitment to supporting both the Nepali and broader communities across Toronto through our cultural, social, and community service initiatives. The Toronto Community Champion Award celebrates organizations that go above and beyond to improve the health, well-being, and resilience of Toronto residents, with a particular focus on advancing equity, inclusion, and social connectedness among equity-deserving groups.

What the Award Means

The Toronto Community Champion Award was established to honour organizations that adapt their services to meet the evolving needs of the community, demonstrate inclusivity and innovation, and serve as pillars of support for Indigenous, Black, and other equity-deserving groups. This year, 25 organizations were recognized as award recipients, and several others, including NCCS, received Honourable Mentions for their outstanding contributions.

Being named among this distinguished group is a significant achievement for NCCS. It highlights the impact of our work and the importance of community-driven initiatives that foster belonging, support, and empowerment for all residents of Toronto.

Our Journey and Commitment

Since our inception, NCCS has worked tirelessly to:

  • Promote Nepali culture and heritage within Toronto’s multicultural landscape
  • Provide social services and support to newcomers, families, and individuals in need
  • Foster community engagement through events, workshops, and outreach programs
  • Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to address emerging challenges and opportunities

This Honourable Mention reflects the dedication of our team, volunteers, supporters, and partners who make our mission possible. It is also a recognition of the resilience and unity within the Nepali Canadian community and our commitment to building bridges with other communities across the city.

Gratitude and Looking Ahead

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the City of Toronto, United Way Greater Toronto, and the selection panel for this honour. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed to our journey-our volunteers, supporters, and community members. Your passion and commitment drive us forward.

As we celebrate this milestone, we are inspired to continue our work with renewed energy and purpose. Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive Toronto – where every community is valued and empowered.

Thank you, Toronto, for this honour. Together, we build a stronger, more inclusive city.
