Earthquake in Nepal


Nepal was hit by a massive earthquake measuring M7.8 Richter scale on April 25, 2015 at 11.56 am local time. The epicenter was somewhere 50 KM west of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The earthquake triggered landslides and avalanche as well.

The human death toll has crossed 8000, more than 75000 injured people have been medically treated, and at least half a million people have become homeless. UN says that around 8 million that is about 25% of the total population of the country has been directly or indirectly affected by the catastrophic earthquake. The sufferings of Neplis got further complicated by the fall of another earthquake of M7.3 Richter scale on May 12, 2015.


Canadian Involvement in Nepal's project
